LITIGATION
Dan has more than 30 years of experience in the courtroom. He has experience in both state and federal courts. Dan was previously licensed in both Illinois and Wisconsin. He was a member of the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois and also on the panel of Cook County arbitrators. After moving from Chicago to Milwaukee, he joined the litigation department of a mid sized Milwaukee area firm for 12 years. As a member of that team, he handled commercial collections and litigation ranging in amounts from a couple thousand dollars to more than a million dollars.
Dan has practiced in Colorado exclusively since 2005. He has represented owners, general contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers in mediations, arbitrations and bench trials here. He regularly files and litigates a variety of civil matters in both district courts and county courts throughout the front range.
REAL ESTATE LAW
Dan prepares and review all sorts of real estate contracts for both buyers and sellers.
Dan prepares and reviews construction contracts and litigates construction matters He has also handled public trustee and judicial foreclosures of both commercial and residential properties in Colorado and regularly prepares, serves and records mechanics liens for clients.
Dan also reviews and advises clients regarding commercial and residential leases and has litigated FED cases on behalf of commercial and residential landlords.
WILLS, TRUSTS AND PROBATE
Dan regularly prepares estate planning documents including wills, wills containing testamentary family trusts to provide for minor children, powers of attorney, and living wills for clients. He also has handled informal probate cases, and guardianships.
FAMILY LAW
Dan prepares and reviews prenuptial agreements for clients. Dan has also filed and litigated dissolution cases. Dan has handled and resolved dissolution cases amicably between the parties, ones that settled at mediation and also cases that went to final orders hearing. Dan also takes dissolution cases as a volunteer for Metro Volunteer Lawyers.
